Why Doctoral Degrees Add Up
A 2004 College Board study found that bachelor's degree holders earn 62 percent more per year than those with only a high school diploma. Those with doctoral degrees earned over 300 percent more.Obviously it pays to earn a doctoral degree--perhaps even more now than before. Education administrator jobs, which are often sought by doctoral degree graduates, are expected to be plentiful in the coming years. And postsecondary teaching jobs are projected to grow by a whopping 23 percent between 2006 and 2016, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
