Following are tips for increasing the overall effectiveness of your job postings at CollegeGrad.com:
More keywords are better than less. This is not a newspaper ad and you won't be charged by the word or by the line.
So be sure to list all of the information that is important to the job posting, including all applicable keywords.
Since most job postings are initially found at our site through keyword searches, make sure that all of the appropriate keywords are included in your job posting.
Your job posting will be more likely to be found for all of the right reasons.
More specific is better than less. Usually the only complaint we get from employers is that they get too many responses.
The quantity of responses is not nearly as important as the quality of the responses.
Make sure you limit the responses by being very specific and very targeted with your job postings.
If there are specifics which better qualify candidates, list them.
And if there are specifics which disqualify candidates, list them as well.
It is up to the candidate to apply for your position, but correctly stated, you will get the maximum number of responses
from candidates who are a good fit for your specific requirements
and the minimum number of responses from candidates who are not.
List all of your available locations. It is usually better to list all of the available locations, since it will again help candidates self-qualify
(and self-disqualify). If you have multiple locations, select "Nationwide" then list the locations in the
"Display Location As" field.
Listing the specific cities and/or states will also help in keyword matching for those who search on
specific cities and/or states in the keyword search section.
And if you offer paid relocation, list it. If not, list this fact as well.
