QUESTION:

My resume is part of my home page, created as robres.htm, but when I try to attach it to e-mail it can't be read in. What can I do to fix this? Help please!!!!

ANSWER FROM BRIAN KRUEGER:

Hi Veronica -

Sending a resume in .htm (or .html) format is typically NOT the best way to send it, since it requires an HTML-enabled mail reader to correctly format it. It would be far better to use MS Word (.doc) format, since it can be used and imported by the vast majority of word processors--in fact, clicking on an attached .doc file in my Mail Reader automatically launches MS Word with the document pre-loaded. If the receiver doesn't have an HTML-enabled browsers, the click on the attached file will provide nothing other than a code-embedded file. Better to keep the attached file in standard format, but you can still provide your URL linking directly to your HTML resume to provide a Web option for viewing.

The best formula for sending a resume via E-mail is to embed it within the body of the message as a text file, attach it as a .doc file, and provide a URL for pointing to your Web .htm version.
