I am finding your book very helpful in my job
search. Do you have any tips on working abroad (London)? I spent a semester there last year and did an internship at a PR Firm--I would like very much to go back!

ANSWER FROM BRIAN KRUEGER:
Hi Carrie -
The best odds for finding work with overseas companies is to work for U.S. companies with overseas operations. The best resource guide for
giving you this information is "Directory of American Firms Operating in Foreign Countries" (mentioned on page 55 of my book). You may have to spend some time working here in the states before getting the
opportunity to work on the other side of the pond, but it's usually worth the wait. You'll typically have a much better position, plus better pay/benefits/perks working for a U.S. firm.
But...don't make that your
only strategy. If you worked for a PR Firm in London, you have a wonderful "in" for accessing the local job market. Contact your former boss and/or business associates to ask for their help. They're probably
well-connected in the local business community and can either point you directly to the firms you should consider or at least start you on the path. As with any long-distance search, you might want to plan a trip in
their direction first, then fill up your interview slots. It's much easier selling a company on meeting you for the interview when you're already there (or on your way).
Seek first your dreams and one day you may find yourself living those dreams.
