What types of companies (large, small, startups, etc.) are
looking for recent college graduates? What types of companies are receptive to hiring people with limited industry experience?

ANSWER FROM BRIAN KRUEGER:
Hi Jon -
Most large companies have established entry level hiring programs. That being said, most of the growth in jobs has been with small to medium size companies. But those companies are harder to find, since they usually are
not coming on campus (like the big guys) to interview. To connect with these companies, you will usually have to make direct contact.
And don't ever get caught in the trap of only targeting companies that have
established entry level training programs. Sometimes the best entry level jobs are where there is no formal training other than working under and with a more experienced person. This mentoring can be much more valuable
than the continued schooling offered by the big companies. Virtually any company of substance (10+ employees) that has need for individuals in your career path should be your target.
