Question: Why was I was able to access my account without entering a login name or password?

Answer: For one of two reasons: either you clicked "Yes" under "Remember Me" (in which case the system sets a cookie to remember you from the same computer) or the last time you used the system you did not logout. If you are using a computer which only you have access to, this should not be a problem. But for security purposes on a shared computer, you should always click the logout link in the upper right hand corner of your account screen before leaving the site.
