Following is a recent letter to our employees from our President and Founder, Brian Krueger:
I received a call from the President of another college job search site. During the course of our conversation, he made the statement that "we all know this is a game and we all want to win." I told him that no, I didn't see this as a game, that this is real life, these are real people, and what we do can have a profound effect on people's lives. I also told him that we aren't all in this "to win." I, for one, am not focused on "winning." I am focused on helping others. I told him that this was our company philosophy, being committed to helping others. He laughed. Perhaps he thought that mine was an unusual statement in his dog-eat-dog world. Or perhaps he considered us to already be losers in his world. And so he will continue in his world. And we in ours.
As we continue to do our work, let's continue to remind ourselves that what we do is not for ourselves, but for others. This is not a game. It is real life. And real life does not have "winners" or "losers" (save that script for the movies). Real life has real people who try to become better people. And people who try to help others become better. Let's always do our best to improve ourselves personally, but always so that we can share ourselves with others.
In the end, the winner will not be the one who played the game the best and won the most toys. In the end, it will be the person who gave away the most who will be the true winner.
Let's continue dedicating ourselves to our commitment to helping others.
