Eliminate Fillers in your Speaking in your Interview

CollegeGrad.com presents "Eliminate fillers in your speaking in the interview."

Transcript:

Hi, everyone. I'm Brian Krueger with CollegeGrad.com and this is The Job Search Minute. Do you use fillers in your speaking? Filler like "um," "uh," "like," "you know," may seem like innocent fillers, but they are highly noticeable in an interview. The best way to get rid of these fillers is to recognize them and replace them. You can recognize them by watching yourself on video. Do a mock interview and take note of the fillers when you watch the playback. Keep a tally, you may be surprised. Then practice recognizing them in your daily speech. Ask friends to point them out when you use them. Then replace them in an interview with a filler phrase such as, "that’s a great question," or a simple, silent pause. Eliminate your fillers to improve your interviewing skills. This has been The Job Search Minute, for more career information please visit CollegeGrad.com.
